Artist Statement

As a Houston-based geometric abstract artist, my work emerges from a lifelong fascination with how shapes, color, and space interact to influence perception and emotion. My paintings are not merely decorative; they are invitations to explore the inner and outer worlds through order, movement, and imaginative connection.

At the core of my practice lies a deep love for geometric shapes in art. I work in acrylic, often layering vivid hues with sharp lines, angular edges, and intentional negative space. Each piece I create is a meditation in motion, deliberate yet intuitive. I see my geometric artwork as a form of modern spiritual expression, rooted in a desire to bring harmony to chaos and to allow the viewer’s imagination to co-create meaning from abstract forms.

My journey into abstract painting evolved naturally over the years, as I explored conceptual themes. However, it was in geometry that I discovered a visual language that best aligned with my inner rhythm. The symmetry, asymmetry, tension, and release that arise from placing shapes in conversation with one another are, to me, symbolic of both human relationships and spiritual alignment. That’s why many viewers tell me that my geometric wall art evokes peace, curiosity, or even joy.

As someone living and painting in the heart of Texas, I’m proud to be part of the thriving Houston geometric abstract scene. This city’s diversity and creative energy continuously inspire my practice. Houston’s rich mix of architecture, innovation, and multiculturalism has a direct impact on the rhythm and variety of my work. While my paintings are deeply personal, they are designed to speak universally—to connect across age, background, and belief.

I consider myself part of a long tradition of geometric abstract artists who view art not only as a means of communication but as a method of organizing experience. I draw inspiration from both famous geometric art movements, such as Bauhaus and Constructivism, and from spiritual symbology. My work integrates the discipline of structure with the flow of creativity. At times, I explore sacred geometry, while in other pieces, I let playful spontaneity guide the composition.

The phrase modern art geometric captures much of what my collection represents: the tension between the mathematical and the expressive, between timeless forms and contemporary palettes. I often blend rich earth tones with brilliant accents, combining cool and warm spectrums to pull the viewer forward and inward. Repetition, contrast, and dimensional illusion are just a few of the methods I use to give my geometric paintings their voice.

In recent years, my work has evolved from precise, rule-bound compositions to freer explorations that honor imperfection. In this way, I find myself bridging the gap between classical design and emotional abstraction. The canvas becomes both a boundary and a possibility. I am continually experimenting with geometric shapes that allow each form to carry weight, vibration, and meaning.

Collectors and designers often tell me that my art fills a space with positive energy. Whether displayed in a minimalist home or a bold corporate lobby, my modern geometric art will complement architecture and uplift the environment. It is designed not just to be looked at, but to be lived with. These are not just images; they are companions in creativity, clarity, and contemplation.

As an artist dedicated to modern painting, I see color theory, composition, and psychological resonance as essential tools. My creative process involves mapping out shape relationships and letting color lead. I may begin a painting with a plan, but I always leave room for the unexpected. That’s the dance between order and intuition that makes abstract paintings truly alive.

The geometric shapes in my art reflect a diverse range of influences—from architectural blueprints to ancient mosaics, from city maps to quilts, and from modern stained glass to patterns found in nature. These sources shape my visual vocabulary. Sometimes, my work resembles a puzzle waiting to be solved; other times, it becomes a visual poem, inviting quiet reflection.

Being among the growing number of geometric artists in today’s world, I believe we are reclaiming and expanding the purpose of abstraction. Where earlier movements often leaned toward cold, minimalist styles, today’s abstract artists—especially women—infuse warmth, wisdom, and cultural depth into their work. My own paintings often weave subtle symbolism into their grids and bursts—whether representing community, memory, or the divine.

Though my approach is contemporary, I am grounded in timeless truths: beauty matters, balance heals, and art transforms. This is why I consider my body of work a contribution not just to decor, but to well-being. I believe in the power of geometric abstract compositions to reorient the viewer—to offer new perspectives through profound yet straightforward forms.

Many of my works are large-scale geometric wall art pieces, made to anchor a room or corridor with bold presence and elegance. Others are smaller meditative studies that serve as visual tools for personal spaces. Whether exhibited in galleries or commissioned for private homes, each painting is part of a greater conversation—about movement, meaning, and the miracle of form.

The discipline of abstraction has taught me to listen. To silence the noise and feel into the essence. To trust geometry as a bridge between logic and spirit. To allow even empty spaces to sing. In this way, my geometric abstract artists contemporaries and I are reclaiming beauty not just as aesthetic, but as truth.

I invite you to experience my work firsthand—online or in person—and to let your imagination run wild alongside mine. My paintings are not static. They breathe, evolve, and speak differently to each viewer. In a world of overwhelm and distraction, they offer pause, direction, and a sense of peaceful possibility.

To collectors, interior designers, art lovers, and seekers of visual serenity, thank you for making space for abstract art. Thank you for seeing the value in geometric shapes, balance, and color. Thank you for supporting artists like me, who are committed to making the invisible visible and believe that form can be a catalyst for prayer.

From my Houston studio, thank you for joining me on this journey through modern geometric art, where abstraction becomes connection and geometry becomes a source of grace.
