My Journey as a Contemporary Abstract Artist
I have always loved creating abstract art. As a child, I found joy in the freedom of colors and shapes, allowing my imagination to take over. But life took me in different directions, and it wasn’t until years later that my passion for art was reignited.
In 1996, while living in Riga, Latvia, I met my translator—a talented artist who later became my husband. His love for painting and his encouragement inspired me to return to the canvas. That moment marked the beginning of my journey as a modern abstract artist, shaping the way I express emotions through bold compositions and vibrant color palettes.
As an abstract houston artist, i continue Growing my Presence in the Art World
Since then, my work has been in exhibitions both in Latvia and the United States. In Houston, I was honored to win first place in a juried exhibition judged by the director of the Glassell School at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Later, in 2023, I received Best of Show at the Abstract Biennial juried exhibition at the Art Center of Corpus Christi.
Over the years, my paintings have been in venues such as:
The Holocaust Museum (Latvia)
City Hotel Teater (Latvia)
The Rotunda Gallery (Houston)
Art House NYC
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (Terminal A)
The Silo Gallery & Studios
My Style as a Modern Abstract Artist
As a contemporary abstract artist, I focus on creating geometric abstracts and loose abstracts that bring a good feeling to the viewer. My work invites people to get lost in the shapes and colors, sparking their imagination and offering a moment of mindful wonder.
Abstract art is about emotion, movement, and perception. Each piece I create is a reflection of how color and form interact, providing a sense of depth and energy. I take inspiration from the world around me, translating feelings into visual expressions that resonate with others.
Looking Ahead
My artistic journey continues to evolve. In 2025, my work was juried into an exhibit at Meadows Gallery in Corpus Christi, and I was a featured abstract Houston artist at Bay 300 Gallery in Houston. I am also actively involved in curated group exhibits like Lyric Works.
In 2025 I served on the board of the Houston Visual Artist Network.
For those who appreciate contemporary abstract art, my collection is a celebration of imagination and emotion. I hope to continue sharing my work with art lovers and collectors who find meaning in modern abstraction.
